In-Network provider for the following insurances:
A native Texan, I earned a BA in Psychology from Our Lady of the Lake University, and an MA in Counseling from UTSA . I worked for over 18 years in community mental health and leadership with nonprofit organizations prior to starting my private practice in 2020. Having been introduced to telemedicine through community mental health many years ago, my decision to transition to become a tele-health practitioner in the midst of the pandemic proved a worthy change. With access to clients across Texas, tele-health has allowed me the opportunity to continue to grow as a clinician, coach and supervisor while creating a more balanced family life.
For so many people, therapy is still filled with stigma and talking to a stranger seems a bizarre practice. Therapy is meant to be a conversation and a collaboration, a therapist is not an all-knowing person that has the truth about you and your life rather a non judgmental support person who can help to provide you with different insight or perspective.
My goal as a therapist is to provide empathy, understanding and challenge you to open your perspectives. I strive to create a space that feels safe, challenging, direct but non judgmental, open minded and supportive to help you explore options in your life that may be very different than my own. I believe, the heart of therapy is the connection between the patient and the therapist. No number of likes, emojis, hashtags and algorithms, can compare with an authentic human connection.
